Leather District
The Leather District is bordered by Chinatown, South Station, and the Financial District. This small neighborhood was once home to Boston’s leather goods manufacturers. While the industry has since left Boston, it has left behind some of the city’s most unique and architecturally significant buildings. With their high ceilings and open floor plans, many of these warehouses have been transformed into luxury lofts.
Many people consider the Leather District to be very similar to New York City’s SoHo neighborhood. Boutique shops and cafés have moved into the neighborhood over the past few years and with South Station right next door, the Leather District is a very desirable place to live.
