Watermark Kendall East, at 250 Kendall Street in Cambridge, is a 17-story apartment tower with 144 residences, completed in 2013 in the heart of Kendall Square.
Designed by CBT Architects, Watermark Kendall East pairs a glass and metal curtain wall with the punched-window facade of neighboring Watermark Kendall West. The two buildings share ground-floor retail and restaurants along the south side, while the East tower has its own entrance to the north. CBT also designed the public interiors and an art program for the building, which earned LEED Silver certification, and four levels of parking sit below grade.
Apartments include studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom homes, along with two penthouses on the 16th and 17th floors. Interiors feature quartz counters, stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, in-unit washers and dryers, and central air conditioning.
Residents have a 24-hour concierge and a fitness spa, along with a second-floor roof terrace that connects to Watermark West's terrace and fitness amenities. A small kayak facility on the adjacent canal offers direct access to the water, which feeds into the Charles River.
The location puts Kendall Square's innovation district right outside the door. The Kendall/MIT Red Line station is about two blocks away, the MIT campus and MIT Museum are a short walk, and the CambridgeSide shops are nearby. The Broad Canal Walk and the Charles River paths are close, and Lofts at Kendall Square is a neighbor.
For renters who want a newer, full-service tower in one of the region's most dynamic neighborhoods, Watermark Kendall East delivers.
